Motorcyclist Struck by Truck, Driver Flees Scene
The Davie Police Department is investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred at the 19600 block of Griffin Road on Wednesday, April 27, 2023. The motorcyclist, identified as 36-year-old Dane Locay, was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck behind a Dunkin location off State Road 84.
Driver Flees Scene of Crash
According to witnesses, the driver of the pickup truck fled the scene of the crash. Police are searching for the suspect and have not yet released any information about their identity.
Motorcyclist Ejected and Killed
Locay was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The eastbound lanes of SR 84 and northbound lanes of Davie RD were closed for several hours after the crash.
